Choosing A Good Domain Name

With more than 50 million domain names registered, it is difficult to find a good done that which is still available. Unfortunately, the domain name industry is full of opportunistic “traders” who buy and sell domain names without any intention of even with themselves. For this reason the majority of registered domain names do not even have a website that goes with

This can be very frustrating when you find a domain name for you even build a website. But at the end of the day in a first-come, first-served world, we must try to find another way to find great domain name.

There are several tools that can be very practical when it comes to finding a domain name. I discuss these tools in another article. Here we will discuss what makes a good domain name.

To mark or not to brand?

Brading is a key element of the traditional “offline” on the market. Having a single application, is catchy name for any company. But when it comes to online presence, you might be better with a domain is rich in keywords.

Search engines are working mostly on words keys you may know. You enter a search term or keyword and the search produces results according to their forms and Web sites they believe to be the best solution for your search.

Now, there are many techniques of search engine optimization that can be used by anyone on any site. The same techniques can be applied to many sites, so my question is what could be the 1 thing that is unique and can therefore be separated from one site to another? Of course, domain names,

I prefer to have keywords in domain names that I own, because that is what could give me an advantage over competitors. Of course, this is not so important if your site is personal and you do not try to make money from it. But if you sell something or wanting to make money from your website, I highly recommend to use keywords in your domain names. Just to prove it, go to Google. com and search for the domain name “. You will see from the results that all occurrences of the term” domain “or” name “is actually fat. So, Google is certainly looking for your search terms and the highlight for you.

On the other hand, the brand is still a strong concept online as well. If you find that the catchy name (GreatCircle and Riseset Hmmm … Google? ) And it work well, then you can be well on your way to mouth-to-mouth reputation in no time!

If your business name is available, register it. You can still register keyword rich domain names to attract traffic, and redirect them to your domain name business.

hyphens or without a stroke of union?

Another common topic of discussion is whether to use hyphens in your domain names. I have a mixture of both names with a hyphen and not a hyphen. There is nothing wrong with hyphens. In fact, search engines, helping you to separate words that could be read differently. Here’s an example: mikesmithstables. com

This domain may belong to a horse trainer “Mike Smith”, a website for its racing stables, or it could also be read as “Tables Mike Smith. So there is certainly nothing wrong with the caesura, as it would actually help to distinguish words that end in the example above. The only problem, small, you run into is the word of mouth advertising which we will call the hyphens. But believe me, you want all traffic coming from search engines because it is free and the volumes are huge.

What about using abbreviations ?

If your preferred name something like flowerstoyou. com, but it has been taken, but you see flowers2you. com is available, if you take it? There are several common abbreviations or variations of certain words that are almost generally accepted, especially in cyberspace. And thank you for SMS messaging, we’re not used to using “2
